October – NSW Men retain national title and Women take second

NSW Men retained their continuing hold on the Senior Nationals’ title in a hard fought battle in over-time against a very determined Queensland.  The men played Queensland in regular rounds the previous night securing a solid victory but Queensland regrouped and came out hard from the start of the final. With 17:17 the score at the end of regular time NSW, who had been unbeaten in the competition until this stage, had to work hard for 23:20 final win. The Women also fought hard against Queensland, with Queensland the overall winners at 22:20 in a nail biting finish. Like the Men, the NSW Women had won against Queensland in the regular rounds, with a one goal margin and Queensland was determined from the outset.  Overall the competition event hosted by Victoria was solid, with seven States and Territories in the Men’s comp and five in the Women”s.
