April – NSW Club season starts with trials on April 27
The NSW Handball League commences with a trials weekend on the 27th April, rather than full competition as the national junior men’s and junior women’s teams have training camps on that weekend and the Australian Women are in NZ playing the Oceania World Championship qualifiers.
Teams are required to supply 2 refereeing pairs for the competition, with Ref training Tues night 23 April, and the trails day as practcal experience, where newer referees can be assisted by their mentors.
Please submit your team lists for the competition to Scott at scott@www.nswhandball.com.au no later than Wednesday 17th April (additional registrations can be accepted later), so that the NSW membership database can be updated and the scoresheets can be prepared for your matches.
April – Refereeing course April 23 for NSW Club refs
As part of the process of gaining accreditation for our referees from the Australian Sports Commission, we have targeted the first weekend of the NSW Comp on April 27 for trials and part of the practical component of the referees course, where newer referees can be assisted by their mentors.
Each team participating in the comp will be required to supply 2 refereeing pairs and our new referees coordinator will be allocating referees and match officials to matches.
These referees will be participating in the initial theory component of the course on Tuesday 23rd April at Sports House (6A Figtree Dr, Sydney Olympic Park) and using what they learn at the trials. Please advise Scott Fearnside if you are planning to attend
