April – Oceania Men’s SuperGlobe planned May 17-19

Sydney University have been awarded the hosting of the SuperGlobe Oceania qualifier planned for Sydney Olympic Park over the weekend of May 17-19. Invitations have been sent to Oceania member federations for their winning Club team per nation. Once nations respond more details will be posted.

April – Aussie Beach camp in Sydney April 13-14

April – NSW piloting Nat Referee course

Following a grant from the Department of Communities (Sport and Rec) to develop a national officiating course, NSW is triailing the Referee component on Saturday and Sunday April 6-7 as a pilot. The course is handball specific and builds from the ASC online Introductory Officating course. Once reviewed and accredited the course will be availabe nationally.

March – Pilot national referee course April 6&7

NSW has received a Department of Communities grant to develop a Introductory Officiating Handball course.A pilot of the Referee compnent will be run on April 6&7 by Alex Gavrilovic, recently returned from the London 2012 Olympics and oversighting their preprartion courses also. Once endorsed the course will be available nationally.

February – NSW players in Aussie Men’s Beach team

Australia plays New Zealand for a best of 2 series on Novemeber 23 and 24 for the Oceania spot for the World Games. NSW players Tim Harvey, David Hudson and Michael Sullivan named in the team, and Mitch Hedges, Alex Michalek and Scott Nicholson also named in the squad for the World Games (pending qualification) and World Championship campaigns. ACT players from NSW competition Callum Mouncey and Andrew Lawrence also named in squad. Well done and best wishes against New Zealand. Matches at Maroubra Beach, NSW on Saturday November 23 at 12:30 and Game Two on Sunday at 12:30.

February – NSW hosting Beach Nats and World Games quals

NSWHA is hosting the 2013 Beach Handball club nationals at Maroubra between February 21-24, preceded by a national camp for squad hopefuls. The tournament will also include the qualification event for Men’s Oceania spot for the Wolrd Games in Cali in July. The Aussie Women’s team directly qualified for the position based on their rankings in the World Championships. Drop by for some great beach handball action. Further details can be found at

January – Aussie Men finish World Champs
